Pakistan Meteorological Department Forecasts Fair Chance Of Sighting Ramadan Moon February 18

According to information released by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Wednesday, there is a “fair chance” of seeing the new moon of Ramazan on the evening of February 18.

The new moon of Ramadan “will be born on the crossing conjunction point of 5:01pm on February 17,” the department’s Climate Data Processing Centre (CDPC) in Karachi wrote in a letter to the Ministry of Religious Affairs on January 26.

It stated that there is a “fair chance” of seeing the new moon of Ramazan 1447 AH on the evening of February 18, 2026, based on astronomical criteria.

Additionally, it stated that most of the country would see partly cloudy or fair weather.

The latest anticipated timings for moon sightings in different regions on February 18 were also included in the PMD’s letter: 6:58 p.m. in Azad Jammu and Kashmir; 7:47 p.m. in Balochistan; 6:53 p.m. in Gilgit-Baltistan; 7:13 p.m. in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; 7:08 p.m. in Punjab; and 7:24 p.m. in Sindh.
